Medan Polytechnic once again held a Coordination Meeting between Vocational Education and industry players in order to realize the goals of the Vocational Tower Program, Tuesday (16/11) at the Hotel Le Polonia Medan.
This program seeks to improve the cooperation between Vocational Education and industry. It is hoped that through this vocational tower program, the industrial, business, and work worlds will be able to absorb Vocational Education Graduates, and that Polmed will be able to develop quality human resources with the best competencies that satisfy industry standards.
In his remarks, First Deputy Director of Medan Polytechnic, Dr. Roslina, MIT, expresses her gratitude to the industries and vocational education people who are very enthusiastic about supporting the vocational tower program which will jointly build and strengthen the regional economy.
This coordination meeting was also attended by the North Sumatra Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Head of the SMK of the North Sumatra Education Department, the Lake Toba Authority Implementing Body, the North Sumatra Course and Training Institute, the Wilmar Bisnis Indonesia Polytechnic, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III, IV, PT. Pacific Medan Industri, PT. Domas, PT. alliance, PT. Unilever Oleochemical Indonesia, ASPPI, ITMA and industries located in North Sumatra as well as the Heads of both public and private SMK in North Sumatra.
Through this coordination meeting which was also conducted offline and online, The fourth Deputy Director of Medan Polytechnic, Ing. Heru Pranoto, ST, also said that the Medan Polytechnic not only establishes cooperation between Polmed and industries, but also serves as a bridge or forum for SMKs and industry people to collaborate.
The Head of the SMK of the North Sumatra Education Department, Ichsanul Arifin Siregar, S.STP., also expressed his gratitude for the implementation of the Vocational Tower Program as well as answering any concerns so far because of the current unemployment rate from SMK is higher.
