Medan State Polytechnic on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, will hold a Focus Group Discussion with Alumni and Partners of the Business World and the Industrial World. This activity was carried out with the theme “Strengthening the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem through Vocational Campus”. This activity is carried out as part of the 2021 Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Strengthening Program for Vocational Education Providers (PTPPV) through the Directorate of Partnership and Alignment of Business and Industry, Directorate General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). which was received by the Medan State Polytechnic along with 22 other Vocational Universities from various regions in Indonesia which was announced on August 23, 2021.
The FGD activity was attended by the Director of the Medan State Polytechnic, Abdul Rahman, S.E. Ak. M.Si. CA., Deputy Director I for Academic Affairs Dr. Roslina, M.IT., Deputy Director IV for Cooperation Relations, Mr. Ing. Heru Pranoto, S.T., Chief Executive of the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Strengthening Program Mrs. Marlya Fatira AK, S.E. M.Si. as well as Chairman of the UPT. Medan State Polytechnic Services and Production, as well as the entire Polmed Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Strengthening Team attended this FGD activity.
In the Opportunity that the implementation of the activity was filled by 6 resource persons who are also partners of DUDIKA Polmed and Polmed alumni who have now succeeded in becoming successful entrepreneurs. The speakers who attended were Delisma Siregar, S.T. M.T. Deputy Director III for Student Affairs, Mulia Sitinjak, S.E. M.M. Branch Manager of PT Bank Mandiri Persero Tbk, Joko Susilo, A.Md. The Head of East Sambirejo Village who is also a successful alumni with the Magot Cultivation business, Rizal Pahlevi Harahap, S.T. is an alumni of Polmed who is now successfully leading PT Melek Energi, Bobby Ardian, A.Md. alumni who is the CEO of BOTOTS, Rahmansyah, S.P. Digital Printing and screen printing entrepreneurs, all of the resource persons shared information in this FGD activity to broaden the horizons of lecturers, department functionaries, Study Program functionaries, leaders of student organizations at Polmed to find insight about the Industrial World and the World of Work to play a joint role in building an entrepreneurial spirit in higher education vocational training, especially the Medan State Polytechnic.
Deputy Director IV, Ing. Heru Pranoto, S.T. said that this program is aimed at growing a healthy ecosystem that produces new entrepreneurs both in Polmed and its partners, and this is our goal, hopefully this can be realized. It was also stated that this FGD activity was the initial activity of a series of 5 events to be carried out by Polmed. Through the results of the discussion from this FGD, it is hoped that it can accommodate ideas from business actors and MSME actors and Polmed also tries to combine and invite potential investors or fund providers who can help young Polmed entrepreneurs. These young entrepreneurs come from various sectors to receive business reinforcement in the form of technology and digital marketing. It is hoped that this FGD will become ammunition to further strengthen the Polmed entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The Director of the Medan State Polytechnic expressed his hope for the implementation of this entrepreneurial ecosystem program, considering that the government is also very strongly pushing for joint efforts to reduce the educated unemployment rate. Of course, this is done with various efforts, one of which is through strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem which is being implemented today. Our joint efforts so that students in the future are not looking for work but creating job opportunities, one of which is done by fostering interest and enthusiasm for student entrepreneurship so that it will grow stronger and develop through innovation and creativity. The Director also expressed his hope to the resource persons and alumni to motivate students to become entrepreneurs well. The Director invites all elements to build a polytechnic by synergizing, working hand in hand, and with prayer so that all our efforts will be beneficial and become good deeds that always grow from time to time.
