D3 students of Medan State Polytechnic (Polmed) majoring in Accounting have won first place at the 2021 Accounting Fair (ACF-IV) held by the North Sumatra State Islamic University (UINSU) on December 2, 2021.
The Polmed team was represented by Muhammad Arif (AK-5B), Iftitas Sokya (AK-5A), and Swadek Kesuma Putra (AK-3E) who took part in the Accounting competition with 16 teams from various universities in North Sumatra including the University of North Sumatra ( USU), Medan State University (UNIMED), Darma Agung University, North Sumatra Muhammadiyah University, UINSU, and several other higher education institutions.
In the selection conducted by UINSU, the Polmed team won 1st place by bringing trophies, certificates, and coaching money which were handed over directly by the Head of the Sharia Accounting Department of UINSU. The second place was won by Darma Agung University, Medan, and the third place was won by the University of North Sumatra.
When interviewed, Muhammad Arif, also a member of the Polmed student team who took part in ACF-IV stated “we participated in all competitions, first we took part in the preliminary round, namely by answering multiple choice questions as many as 75 questions per individual, the scores will be accumulated, right? until we get the 5 highest scoring teams and we are ranked 1st in that session”.
“After the 5 teams were selected, we proceeded to the final round, namely accounting literacy. in the first session we answered mandatory questions and for each team, then got the 3 highest teams to go to the next stage. when the matter of fighting took place, we almost wiped out the questions given by the jury, there was only one question that we were too late to answer,” he added.
On the same occasion, the Director of Polmed, Abdul Rahman, SE, Ak., M.Si also congratulated the students who succeeded in making Polmed proud by winning 1st place in ACF-IV. “To all students, continue to work and innovate to help advance the nation, especially the Medan State Polytechnic”. he added.
